Tim Frazier, Head Golf Professional
Tim Frazier began playing golf at age eleven at a public golf course in Churubusco that his grandfather had built and owned. By age fourteen, Tim was participating in State Junior Golf Tournaments and began learning the golf business. He proved successful in high school golf and was recruited and played Division I Collegiate Golf for Ball State University. While at Ball State, Tim built his academic and golf skills as he won three individual Collegiate tournaments in his career and was voted the team's "Most Valuable Golfer" and Co-Captain his senior year. In 1991, following college with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Tim began working at Sycamore Hills Golf Club under the instruction of Bob Kruse. Learning the program from the bottom up, Tim began as an apprentice in the bag room and worked his way to becoming a PGA member and now retains the current Head Golf Professional position.
Tim's playing experience includes the Florida Mini Tours, Northeast Ohio and Indiana Section events, and the 1996 and 2005 National Club Professional Championships. Among his accomplishments, Tim was named the 2004 Merchandiser of the Year, 2005 Teacher of the Year, and is a member of the Indiana Section PGA Board of Directors. In June 2007, Tim played in the Professional National Championship in Sun River, Oregon. Tim and Chad, PGA Apprentice Professional, also won the Indiana Section Pro-Assistant Championship in July of 2007.
Chris Montagano, PGA Apprentice Professional
Chris Montagano began playing golf at age 13 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He played high school golf and attended Ferris State University's Professional Golf Management Program. During his four years at Ferris State, Chris did internships at Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club, in Arcadia, Michigan, Elcona Country Club in Bristol, Indiana and Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina. In 2007, Chris graduated from Ferris State with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Club Management.
Chris' playing achievements include winning the Pro-Assistant Championship with Tim Frazier this July.
Bob Kruse, Pro Emeritus
Bob Kruse began his career at the Auburn Country Club in 1961 at the age of 18. He moved in 1963 to Meridian Hills Country Club in Indianapolis where he stayed until he was called to military duty in 1964. After returning from overseas in 1966 he took a position as assistant at Orchard Ridge Country Club. He later assumed the head professional position at Brookwood Golf Club and added Fairview Golf Club to the list in 1970. In 1989 Bob took the position as Head Golf Professional at Sycamore Hills Golf Club and in 1999 became the Director of Golf Operations.
During his career, Bob qualified and played in the 1968 National PGA Championship, the 1972 National PGA Club Professional Championship and three Naitonal Senior Club Professional Championships. He is an eight-time U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier; a ten-time Indiana Challenge Cup Member; He was a 1996 Champion with Tim Frazier in the Indiana Professional/Assistant Championship and three-time runner up in this event;1977 State Pro-Am Champion with Tom Kelley - made two eagles on last three holes. Bob also has numerous top ten finishes in the Indiana State Open, Stroke Play and Match Play events. In addition to his many accomplishments Bob was voted by his peers as 1980 Golf Professional of the Year, 1996 Teacher of the Year and 1997 Merchandiser of the Year.
